practical advice from the spectator's perspective about how to create
more satisfying events
But Civil War Spectator also needs to know what you know!
Send us details that
spectators really want and need.
We update event listings up until
the week of an event. Send us specific location, directions, gate
opening times, battle times, number of reenactors anticipated,
prices--anything helpful to potential spectators. We'll post map of
the area if you send one.
Send us your web-site URL if you
have one and we'll also link to it. We appreciate a contact person's
e-mail address or phone number--we'll use it sparingly. It will never
be made public unless you ask us in writing to do that.
If you have no web-site of your
own, we will be happy to include your after-event reports and
comments--short or long--as long as they are aimed at the interests
of spectators or organizers.
And remember, if a word or two of
criticism stings now and then, we're not perfect either. And every
criticism of something that didn't work well enough is also a
recognition that someone else could figure out a better way to do it.
That can make events better for spectators--and staff--without
compromising reenactor needs.
So, whether you're new to battle
events--or a battle-hardened vet--share and learn from each other's
experiences.
