I attend several reenactments during the year. I am most impressed with one I attended for the first time at Mill Springs, KY last October 3, 1998. The spectator area was well organized. The lay of the area was a hill. The very top for the standing spectators, a few feet down, was an area for those with chairs, further below the chair area was the blanket on the ground sitting area.. Two areas were especially set out for photographers..

Enforcement in these areas was well maintained with teenagers wearing yellow shirts. They were courteous and helpful, also they walked the spectator area ready and willing to help anyone with a need, at the same time, they reminded anyone standing in a sitting area to please move on or please be sitted.

I was very impressed at the coordination involved at this event. I understand this is not always possible in flat areas of a large events, but some type of organization is possible, many times it becomes difficult for the shorter folks to see the event taking place. It bothers me to see these folks missing out on the scenes before them, especially the children. I have many times made as much room as possible for these folks and children.

At the same time, giving up some nice photography shots to accomodate those hampered from a historical view.

Thank you CWBS for giving my this opportunity to express my experiences at these historical events.

Sincerely, Sandy
