CIVIL WAR BATTLE
RE-ENACTMENT SITE
MIDDLETOWN
VIRGINIA
Middletown, VA, is just
off U.S. I-81. Rt 11, running parallel, is main street, which goes
along the battle site. The battle is re-enacted directly across from
the Rt 11 marker that you can see near the lower left hand corner of
this map. It is southwest of town, adjacent to the Belle Grove
plantation.
The actual battle
spread across many miles of the entire area. The annual re-enactment
is held on a rolling, rocky part of the battlefield and is now an
official battlefield conservancy site, thanks to donations made by
and through re-enactor and spectator participation at reenactments
over the years.
Note: If you come north
on I-81 or out of I-66 from Washington area, you can also access Rt
11 where it comes to I-81 (just off the map).
